STEPS For The Future was created by James Cook University students working in partnership with Region 22 National Disability Coordination Officer.  The game was created to provide an engaging format to convey positive messages to young people experiencing disability or other barriers to achieving their study and employment goals.

Overview of Game:

This game tells a story of how a student acquires a life changing disability, recovers, returns to school, works very hard and receives support from friends.  He is also very helpful and assists his friends with many of their troubles. This game carries core messages of resilience, inclusion, and highlights professional supports available in the transition from school.  It touches on the many issues encountered by young people such as family, friendships, bullying, peer pressure, binge drinking, study pressures, anti-social behaviour, work study balance.

The game centres around JD who works hard, gets support when needed and achieves success in study, employment and life.  This game is set in a futuristic world where life and study is undertaken in domes.

This game was created by young people for young people - are you ready to Step Into The Future....
