Resource
Creating Accessible Teaching and Support (CATS) is a web based
information source that provides up to date, accurate and
comprehensive information about inclusive teaching, learning and
assessment strategies, accommodations and support services for
people with disabilities. CATS aims to encourage equitable,
inclusive access to university education for people with disabilities.
CATS is hosted by the University of Tasmania, and was funded by
DEEWR and the Australian Learning & Teaching Council..

Department of Communities - Disability, Home and Community Care, and Community Mental Health Services
DSQ is the first disability focused Department in Queensland, representing a new way forward for people with a disability and their families. The Department works closely with communities to enhance service delivery and allow people with a disability and their families more input into the policies that affect them.
The Disability Information Service (part of DSQ) links you to disability information and resources. You can contact this free, statewide service by phone, fax, email or telephone typewriter (TTY), or use QFinder - Queensland Directory of Health and Community Services.

National Disability Services (NDS)
NDS is the national industry association for disability services, representing over 600 not-for-profit organisations. NDS members operate several thousand services for Australians with all types of disability. NDS members range in size from small support groups to large multi-service organisations, located in every State and Territory across Australia.

Queensland Universities
There is a diverse range of universities and other higher education providers across the State. These institutions offer degrees and postgraduate programs and engage in scholarship, research and development activities. Queensland has nine universities, and more than 20 non-university providers and overseas institutions.

Queensland TAFEs
TAFE Queensland is the state's largest provider of practical and relevant education and training. Courses are available through a network of institutes via traditional (classroom), distance, online, in your workplace or a combination of these modes of delivery. There are 13 institutes within the TAFE Queensland network, with over 800 skill areas.

Disability Employment Services (DES)
The Disability Employment Services (DES) provides specialist assistance to people with disabilities, injury or health conditions. DES will provide individually tailored employment services including an Employment Pathway Plan (EPP), linkages with training and skills development. DES offers 2 programs:
Disability Management Service: For jobseekers with disability, injury or health condition who require employment assistance but require short term support – approx 6-12 months.
Employment Support Services: For jobseekers with permanent disability and with an assessed need for long term regular support in the workplace – 12 months or more.

| Job Services Australia (JSA)
A one-stop shop connecting you to the services you need to help you find and keep a job. Your Job Services Australia (JSA) provider will work with you to develop an Employment Pathway Plan (EPP) based on your needs and circumstances and sets out the services and training that will help you to find and keep a job. Access will be available to a wide range of work experience activities and training suited to the employment opportunities in your local area.

Job Capacity Assessments identify a person’s ability to work and any barriers they face to getting a job and will directly connect them to employment support services to assist in addressing those barriers.
